At PS151K, the music class is more than just a lesson—it's a journey through sound, rhythm, and self-expression.

Starting in third and fourth grade, students begin their instrumental training, learning the recorder, ukulele, and bucket drumming. Fourth graders have the exceptional opportunity to perform with a professional orchestra at Carnegie Hall!

In fifth grade, students transition to a modern band setting, choosing instruments like guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and vocals to form their own ensembles.

Music education at PS151K does more than teach notes; it cultivates essential life skills. Students develop listening, memory, motor coordination, creativity, self-expression, teamwork, and problem-solving—all while making music.
