The gender gap in computing is getting worse.
In 1995, 37% of computer scientists were women. Today, it’s only 24%. The percent will continue to decline if we do nothing. We know that the biggest drop off of girls in computer science is between the ages of 13 and 17.
Girls Who Code is changing the game
We're reaching girls around the world and are on track to close the gender gap in new entry-level tech jobs by 2030.

Recognize and support the strength in every girl. Respect the dignity of each human being and demonstrate genuine care and concern for the well-being of others. Understand and appreciate diversity, embrace inclusiveness, and advance equity. Drive for results anchored in integrity and accountability. Collaborate for impact.

Music and the Brain program transforms our kindergarten, first and second graders. We're not just learning piano. We're building foundational music skills, improving focus and fine motor skills, and even boosting language and literacy! I've seen firsthand how our diverse students develop perseverance and grit as they tackle challenges and celebrate their musical wins. We also learn to sing using solfege to develop our vocal skills. It's truly incredible how music impacts every part of their learning!

Hello! I am Mr. O’Kelly, the physical education teacher here at PS 151K. In physical education class, students are taught important physical skills that will help them excel in sports and other physical activities. Students work on locomotor skills such as jumping, skipping, running and shuffling. They work on sport related skills such as throwing, kicking and striking a ball towards a target. Students also learn about the five fitness components (flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiorespiratory endurance and body composition). We make connections of how being physically active and having a well balanced diet helps lead to a healthy lifestyle. I want to create a safe and fun learning environment in the gym so that students truly enjoy sports and stay active throughout their life.
